I'm looking for a utility which reports the actual true PCI bus speed.

Some thought SiSoft Sandra did but I have Sandra 2001te and I can't find PCI bus speed in any of the information modules. It reports AGP bus speed but not PCI bus speed as far as I could tell.

If you go to the mainboard module it lists that information right under the AGP information. It should be 33 mhz unless you have overclocked the PCI bus at all.

I saw the PCI Bus section under Mainboard Info but I'd swear it didn't have the PCI bus speed. I looked several times but I'll check again.

It should be there but like I said if you haven't changed the PCI bus at all in the BIOS then it should be around 33 mhz. :D

I'm not running a 33 Mhz PCI bus. I want the utility so I can tell my PCI bus speed at various FSB speeds because my Epox 8K7A mb supposedly switches from a 1/4 to 1/5 PCI divisor at 167 Mhz and I wanted a way to verify that.

I am not aware of any Utility that does what you ask unfortunately. If someone does know clue me in :) I have to break out the oscilloscope and get down and dirty with the mobo :D

I checked again in Sandra Mainboard Info and did not see PCI bus "speed" reported anywhere. Again, I have Sandra 2001te Standard. If anyone has this version or another utility which reports PCI bus speed, please let me know. Thanks.

This is the same as I have. On mine it's under Mainboard Information (among other places), next heading below AGP.
If I can send, this is where it is on mine (Sorry for the monochrome... it's about 24k instead of 180k for color. :) :

Interesting. On my PC there are only 2 lines (not 4) under the "PCI Bus(es)" section. I have "Version" and "No Buses" but NOT "Bus Speed" and "Speed Multiplier".

Mine looks like this:

PCI Bus(es)
Version 2.10
No Buses 1

I wonder why the bus speed is missing? Maybe something to do with my mb chipset (AMD 761 / VIA 686B)? Wierd.

Don't know why it wouldn't have that. My Abit also has the 686B south bridge, so I figure that part wouldn't have anything to do with it. I believe the north bridge controls PCI anyway. You might try re-downloading the most recent version of Sandra. We might have a slightly different version. I'll attach a shot of my "About" screen so you can check it that way.

I have exactly the same version and 'about' screen as you. I guess I could try reinstalling. Maybe someone else with an Epox 8K7A will read this topic and run Sandra to see if it reports PCI bus speed for them.

I though WCPUID reported that. Hm..I'll have to check once I put my computer back together.
