Timings convention

I've seen memory timings listed as RAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS, like at http://www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20040119/index-02.html. This is also the way some companies, like Kingston, rate them. On the other side, I've seen timings listed as RAS-tRP-tRCD-tRAS, for example in this new interesting article at Anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.html?i=2019 or also on Drisler's Memory Basics article sticky.

So what's the official way? Is there one? It's quite confusing seeing 2-2-3-6 and 2-3-2-6 and not knowing what the 3 actually refers to... well, you can guess sometimes as tRCD is usually equal or greater than tRP, but still it's still a headache and not very clear sometimes.

No official way really. Some people even choose to list them in the order they're found in the BIOS.

I guess when you run 2-2-2 it doesn't matter the order. :D

Most people usually list them the order that they are in the BIOS. Most MBs are the same, but not all.

The one thing you can be sure on is CAS is always listed first.
