I've got an audigy 1 which I've had for a while and am pretty happy with. On my computer I listen to a LOT of music, and was just wondering if the sound quality or overall features of the Audigy 2 justify upgrading from an Audigy 1, if anyone has any experience?
Thnx!:)

nope, especially for music (unless its DVD-A, which is supported by the A2) the features of the A2 aren't going to make enough of a differnce to make it worth upgrading.

Thanks!
Another nope from me. I have both in front of me (well OK one is in the other room). Your speakers will make a much bigger difference in sound quality then the difference between the A1 and A2.
You can mod the A2 (or A2 ZS) drivers to install on your A1, which IMHO improves the sound quality a bit. See this thread (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=268106) for more info.

Do this! I did the softmod the other day and my music sounds better. Overall the audigy2 drivers seem to sound a little cleaner with punchier lows.
IF you do go ahead with the softmod, let us know how it went and what your impressions are. I also listen to alot of music and was pleased by the results. Best of luck.

Hey all,
I just did the softmod and I'm quite impressed! It sounds to me like sound quality did improve, not exponentially, but noticeable nonetheless!
Also, the software and hardware tools seem much more powerful with the A2 driver package - so much so that I'm considering a new set of speakers :D
Thanks all!
