I was wondering what would be the actual differences, as in what would one not be able to do using either one of these 3 cards/setups. For instance, I was wondering If it would be possible to plug an analog radio into one, but not in the other and be able to record what's received:

SB Audigy 2 ZS (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=29-102-162&depa=0)

SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=29-102-163&depa=0)

SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=29-102-164&depa=0)

Is there something that would be possible using say the Platinum Pro as opposed to the Platinum?

In your opinion, what would you buy (of the 3)?

Well I bought the Audigy 2ZS because I didnt need all the extra external junk that comes with the more exprensive cards. I got the ZS retail unopened for 84 bucks. The higher cards are exactly the same except they offer a lot more ability for connecting external devices and things like that.

the biggest differnce is the inclusion of a live drive bay thingy or an extenal box (for the pro) for connecting more stuff. The only reason to shell out more $$$ is if you want/need those connections in an easily accessible location.

That's what I'm asking.

With the external box in the Platinum, would I be able to plug a radio into it and take the signals and save them on my PC for later listening or even burning?

As far as extra junk, that's all I'd be interested in doing.

What kind of output cable would you be using for the radio?

I woudln't know.

But if I ever Found an input socket in a radio would I be able to plug it into the platinum box, using the right wire?

if you're not regularly connecting and reconnecting that tuner, then the external box isn't going to do much.

Some people like gadgets. Having more bells and whistles on a machine is often sought after. It looks more complicated and has some more features.

The extra boxes with the platinum versions do have optical digital input/output and a remote control as well. If these items are worth the funky 5 1/4 bay mod, then maybe this is what you want.

Myself: I don't like the bay box thingy. But I ubiquitously dislike clutter.

Thanks for your input, I think you've convinced me.

Yes, it looks offly nice and sophisticated, like the unnecessary leather seats and air-conditioning controls of a spruced up car.

I thought there was sense to those tuners.
