Floppy drive problems

I can no longer format floppy disks! I have tried 6 or so, just get an error that the disk cannot be formatted! This drive was bought for this computer, and is only 6 months old or so. I have only used it 10 or 20 times?

I can read data off a disk, but can no longer format a disk (for BIOS upgrade or downgrade).

Any ideas?

Try that drive on another machine and see if it works.

i also had floppy probs. my old floppy drive would save stuff onto the disk but then no computer anywhere could open the files on it........ (this kinda sucked wen i had to make a presentation at school and i decided that i would use a floppy) well i didnt really fix it, i just swapped it for my old floppy from my old ibm and it works great (except for the fact that its old and loud)
