Hi,
I'm using windows 2003 Server enterprise edition on my desktop and on my laptop.
My Desktop is configured as a RAS/VPS server & DHCP server.
I'm connected to the internet with a cable connection.
The problem is, when i connect my laptop to my desktop (cross over) i can't ge acces to the intenet anymore.
Not with my laptop and not with my desktop. What's wrong here.
Thanks in advance.

I've never used W2k3 before, but it almost sounds like you're sharing the wrong connection.

Almost like you've set up the laptop to be like the big network, and the internet to be the small one.

You have two NICs installed in the Desktop PC, right?

If so you would have one cable going out from the desktop to your internet connection, and then from your laptop you would have a normal CAT5 cable going to the other NIC on your desktop.

More details about your config?

I found the problem. WooHoo
I configured the NIC on the desktop going to the laptop with a standard gateway that had the IP of the desktop
(removed it and it worked)
From the moment it was connected Windows tried to connect to the desktop as a gateway and that wasn't working.

Thanks for reply all :D
