My machine doesn't pass the prime test. I get round off errors.

1 gig at 1435.

Question:

1. Will this effect Fah in terms of the results i'm sending? I'm rock stable while running Fah, but i don't know if i'm sending screwy results because of the prime issue.

2. If i increase core voltage and i/o voltage, would that help bring the machine to a more stable state?

Machine never crashes. It's seems 100% solid.

Bump! Good question. I think most of the mention regarding poor work results and oc'ed CPU's was in relation to Seti. I'm honestly not sure if folding is the same way!

You might want to try bumping the voltage up a notch as you mentioned and then running Prime 95 again or Lower your fsb/mult until you get a stable run. As always...keep an eye on those temps if your going to raise your voltage. Good Luck..

temps are 42c idle 48c loaded.

13x multi
107fsb

voltage 1.80v
i/o 3.60 v

I was honestly surprised to see prime 95 not pass the test because the machine seems so darn stable.

I'm going to try at 13X100 and see if it'll complete the test correctly.

Cheers.

I think F@H would just lock up if there was any problems. I don't know anything about prime95, but it might just make mistakes instead of locking up. :)

Just to be safe, we should ALL try to run the prime torture test, just to make sure the results we are sending in aren't all too screwy. If it can't run prime all too good, it won't run folding all too good.

I dropped the cpu down to 1365 and prime seem to crush numbers no problem at that speed. I think that my cpu was running at the edge stability. 1 gig at 1435 might be just a touch too much for it to handle.

Grin, i've noticed that my temps have droped a lot as well. Under fah i was getting 48c load. Now down at 1365 I'm getting 44c load.

I think it's a good idea to run Prime95 just to make sure were all sending good solid results. I personally would prefer to rack up a few less frames if my results are more stable for standford.

Fold on into the night.

Agreed!
However, I think you should try leaving prime95 on over night, just to be sure it is rock stabe... :)

eheh.

No Problem. I fire that up tonight and see if it's stable.

Better yet, i'll leave it on tomorrow during the day. It's hot like the gates of hell in montreal at the moment. Day time will really test that baby.

Well, here's an update on the prime 95 issue on my main folding box. I cranked the voltage it just a touch and ran prime all night with no errors. Guess she needed just a touch more power.

Fold on

Yeah that must have been it! Fold on brother - on a STABLE computer, I might add...

This folding thing is addictive. I'm getting the itch to build another box.
