View Full Version : D-Tek NB Waterblock
Yay, D-Tek NB WBs are back in stock, AND they have the "hook" setup mounting hardware! I've been in touch with one of the D-Tek guys and it looks like we can start ordering them. Just thought I'd mention it just in case some of you were waiting.

I thought the hook installation was kinda dangerous, if they ever get knocked sideways the hooks can come flying off and pop straight up or something. I think i saw in another thread in here.
The site still says pre-order... i hate pre-ordering.
i think the hooks you saw the post about were for the DD zchip. im not sure what the dtek ones look like though
It's been pre-order for the past week or so. I think they actually have some in stock now.
Yeah, the DD Z-block hook thing was kind of wobbley. I haven't seen the D-Tek hook setup yet, but I mean, I really don't have a choice, haha! I guess if it flies off, hits me in the face, and causes water to spray all over the interior of my system and ruining all of the electronic components, then I can return the waterblock and get a refund. :(
Theres some really nice air cooling options. you could consider those if you're afraid of flying clips.
the swiftech is really nice: 18db @full power, wont be stressed by tubing or cause more stress to cpu, wont heat up water or add restrictions, is cheaper, and IMHO is more than adequete

edit: im not positive about that link, theres one now that has all 4 corners with hook things

well i'd like to eliminate as many fans as I can when the time comes, plus i value my eye so i'd like to not lose it.
Yeah, I was really thinking about the Swiftech, but I thought I could just include the NB in the loop and just eliminate that extra fan. But, I was thinking if it would really be worth it or not. But, I'm really picky about noise, even though it only produces 18dBA, the fan operates at a high RPM so I'm worried about the buzzing noise.
Another thought, I have an Abit IC7MAX3 and putting the Swiftech MCX159 (which seems very tall) may get in the way of the all-screws on my Maze-4 since the GPU is almost directly below the NB. It'll barely clear the stock NB HSF that comes with the board. I guess I could saw off some of the all-screws with a dremel or something.
Oh well... Let's just say I include the D-Tek NB WB, would it be bad if my flow-rate dropped below 1GPM because of it? I have a Swiftech MCP600 pump with the DD RBX and a Maze-4 for my GPU, all 1/2" ID tubing of course. Will adding the D-Tek product too much resistance? It's supposed to be high-flow, but what do you guys think?
Hmmm, I guess I just jacked my own thread, sorry GV2NIX!
