What would be a good video card to replace my Asus Geforce 256 DDR Deluxe card. I need video in/out functionality. Would like to be able to do some video editing but not willing to spend cash for a Radeon All In Wonder, what would be something that would be better than what I have with similar features??

I am upgrading chip and mobo and am looking for a better video card, open to suggestions of bran, wanna stay with ddr if possible. Would a 64 SDRAM card be a choice at all or would I be going backwards?

BTW what would an Asus Geforce 256 DDR Deluxe card be worth used with all the goodies it came with

The All-In-Wonder may be your only choice... for $160-ish online you won't find a card with more features that will still play games with some muscle.

SDRAM isn't the end of the world. 64 is a nice thing, though, and good (5 or 5.5 NS RAM) would suffice (I too prefer DDR now, but it is a lot more money, but the VI/VO Radeon comes with DDR for the extra dough).

You might get $40-50 on eBay for the card, honestly dunno... do a search through the completed auctions and see what they have sold for... that will give you a ballpark figure.

Aopen Geforce II MX 400 All-In-One TV in/out and Video in/out retail box

Would this card give me better performance than my Geforce 256 DDR card, or would the SDRAM it uses make it equal in performance?? It has the functionality I need and the price is right once I sell my current card.

I wouldn't recommend Aopen.

Check www.newegg.com for some better cards (Asus, Leadtek, etc)... maybe find one there for same price and better name.

The MX-400 even with SDR memory will be a good upgrade from the geforce 256, even with DDR.

Check newegg.com, they did have the Gainward 64Mb GF2 Pro card for $147 plus shipping. I don't know if it has VIVO, but it is a good card. Another one to consider is the MSI STarforce 831, it's $142 plus shipping from newegg and is a very nice card. It comes with S-video out, but no games:( . If you want video editing though, go with a Radeon. They aren't excusively considered "gaming" cards like the nVidias are.
