Cat 4.2 drivers locked up my system....

I run windows XP and when I rolled back from 4.3 to 4.2 last night to see if there were any improvements to my 3d MARK scores....my entire system is now crashing at the scandisk screen. Last night I had to hard reset my machine after a big freeze and as soon as the scandisk is done, the screen will flicker and then freeze with the scandisk screen laughing in my face.

Do any of you guys have a solution for this or have run into this problem before?

System specs: 2.4c, ABIT IC7, 768 Megs ram, 9600XT

hm.. scandisk as in pre windows? you've tried skiping it?
Doesn't sound like video card. could be, but the drivers haven't really kicked in yet if it's during scandisk.
could be a hard drive problem.

You might have to run a repair install for your XP.
