we need to start a clan..im sick and tired of all the punks i play with online..for instance i was playing on a server yesterday and was kickin some serious butt..and i killed the admin(atleast he must have been)a few times and he was crying to me like a little baby(he was also a spawn camper hovering over spawn points in a helicopter killing as soon as the players spawned)i basically called him a cry baby spawn camper and the next thing i knew i was kicked from the server..i was ******ed! i went right back in and was kicked again(before i could speak my peace)..i tryed to go back again and was banned from the server..so basically i want to either get a clan started or i want to join a clan somewhere...if anyone is interested in starting one let me know...or if you could help me find one to join i would be very happy...

Good to see some interest in this. :) You should all head over to www.overclockedgamerz.com and post up your interest in this in the planning and development section of the forums there. I'm sure SpeeDj, Cy, Scoobie, and the rest of the staff would be happy to give you guys a hand getting things rolling. You just need to be persistent. Hit up our IRC chat room too. Most of us are usually on pretty regularly.

Sounds like you're getting some interest here, and at the [OCG] forums Mica. Have you tried getting peoples contact info and setting up some preliminary tryouts yet? Or even just playing with some of these guys will help. Again, hit up our IRC channel and chat it up a bit too. Make yourself seen, and it will probably help your case. :D

Easy way: you can use our irc program on the website. Just look for "Web Chat" on the left of ocg's website. click it, type in your nickname and hit join!

Then any member can help you get started with everything!

Mica, my advice is to get on irc using mirc or the webchat feature on our website. Then one of us will help you configure your mic and get TS2 going. Once that's done, I would recommend either chatting w/ J over irc or voiced chat. When I was getting things rolling with Halo, I worked heavily with SpeeDj. Things get done much quicker with irc and voice chat. ;)

J will be able to fill you in on responsibilities as a clan leader, the way things work with the voice servers, etc. IRC is your friend! :)

I need to know the best days(or nights) and times you can play.
sofar tues, thurs, fri, and sat are the best days.
8:00pm-10:00pm eastern are the best times to start.

you will also need a mic to talk on teamspeak2.

I, as well as others(hopefully others) will help you set up everthing.

( it would be nice for them to sign up at [OCG] )

you may add [OC] to your name in the game so we know who you are.

we do not have a server at this time...if you have one, please let me know.
so we will try to find an empty public BF:V server to fool around in.
then maybe hop into one that has some players to realy enjoy some action.

I've actually been looking for a clan. I play a lot on public servers and pretty much have the game down. I had a good time, Even though there was a lack of people. I'd love to join the OCG clan if one gets made for Battlefield Vietnam, if it does. Hopefully next time around we can get more people in there playing.

Everyone should really consider downloading Xfire, I use it with my friend to play Nam and it's awesome. It shows what server there on, How many people are in it, Ping, Etc. You just click join in and your done. I'm also looking forward to the next time, Keep me posted :D

6 out of 8 or 9 people is not that bad for a first turn out.

I would also like to thank (I think it was wookiecrisp) for the use of the private server.(maybe we can use it again)

a big thank you goes out to ROCK for all the help he gave at [OCG] in setting everyone up in teamspeak2...I hope you see this.

I do have a few things that I wanted to speak to you guys about...
spoke to speedj and it seems that we will need at least another "clan leader" besides myself.
we need two clan leaders.
we also will need squad leaders...such as 1 squad leader for every 10 or so guys.

for example, if we had 20 men...
them there would be 2 squad leaders, 1 for each "team" or squad.
that way we could take orders from the squad leader and know what he wants us to do next.

in teamspeak, halo has 2 channels...red team, blue team.
each team can have there own channel, so only that team hears what is said. (we will be able to use halo channels, ONLY when they are not being used. yellowdart is halo clan leader...never use halo channels with out his OK first. let's be nice boys)

as you can see we are still only 8 or 9 members...not 20.
but what we did last night was a big start.
please help in getting more of your friends, family, or pets to come out to play.:p

as some people can't play on the weekends, we will start playing weeknights.
I can't speek for most of you, but 8:00pm EST is a little early for me and some people on the west coast. (hey, people need to eat first.)

I'm a night owl, so 11:00pm EST might be a little better for most...

tues, thurs, and fri seem to be the best weekdays to play at the moment....we still might play on sat or sun at a later time, as membership grows.

update: well we talked about start times and it seems that at least one person can't make it so late(11:00pm EST) because he lives on the east coast and needs to get up early.

yet one person in the meeting said that he's more interested in girls (what's a girl?), and can't make it too early, so we came to a compromise.

new start time is now 10:00pm EST (7:00PST)
tues, thurs and fri

LOL sorry I keep missing you guys. Mica, I saw you in irc earlier... but I was in_game, tearing up a pub server w/ some of muh boyz and a couple new recruits. If I have time, I might try to join you all Friday just for a bit o fun. I've been practicing a little lately. At least when I pilot a helo, I don't yaw off, flip upside-down and crash anymore! lol

Also another notable thing. When I first bought the game, I was having terrible video lag. My fps sucked, and I was having to run the game @ 1024x768 with the computer in my sig. I tried a bit of tweeking. (The soundbuffer trick never worked). I ended up giving the Cat 4.4's a shot, and I dropped the texture quality down from "Very High" to "High". Right off the bat the 4.4's seemed to perform a little better for me than the 3.7's did. I lost no discernable IQ, but my fps jumped through the roof! I can run smoothly @ 1600x1200 now! :D

well we had another team practice, and sure as the day is long...I'm a dead man once I'm in wookiecrisp's sights.

it's nice to see the same returning members...
I'm trying hard to get some new boys in here, yet it's getting harder to find new members. (lack of PM replys)

:rolleyes: Well it appears that I'm not completely out of the woods yet. I can play smoothly on maps that don't have a lot of geometry, ie: flaming dart, etc. Anything in the jungle works fine. Once I get around buildings, insane video stutter. Even @ 1280x1024 I get the stutters BAD in urban maps. :rolleyes:

Here's hoping for a patch/driver update to fix this soon!

yeah, I think we all hope for a patch. 9800 owners especialy.

yet I wonder if your getting onto severs that are just not up to sooo many players?

try finding low ping severs that only allow 16 or less players....

Nah... I get the stutters in single player too. I've even gone as far as to create a LAN game for myself only to see if it was a server issue, but even in a game by myself, run locally, I still experience. EA, Patch! Now!!! :p

I too get a little chop chop at the begining of single player...
did you notice that single player defaults to 64 bots???

maybe we are running out of system memory with such a high amount of bots/players??? even though both of us have 1gig!!!!
(mica wonders if we are realy running out of vid memory instead?)

try 16 bots...do you have stutter problems now?

I get stutter with 0 bots. So I know it's got to be the game. I didn't notice much performance difference between Cat's 3.7 and 4.4. The IQ is a little better in 4.4, but 4.4 doesn't claim to fix any of the graphical problems in BFV.

Video memory could also be an issue too, but if I'm seeing it in a map with 0 bots. So it's most likely EA/DICE's glitch that needs fixing.

this might not happen tomorrow, but soon. ;)

we are all having a great deal of fun, yet I would like to try a few new things.

I think that we should start working in a more formal training way....

I'd like to have only one map for each week.
this will give us a better familiarity of each map.

durring the first night (tues) we all meet in one location, and then ride together to each flag point.
at each flag point, we can then talk about how is the best way to attack and defend the area.
we could also work on any tips, hints, or tricks that people know.
ALL members have the right to give input, and shoud do so.
(if you don't speak up, we can't learn.)
we then will go on to the next flag together, and work on that.

on the next night (thurs) we should use the same map.
and then work on any tactical help we might need at only one flag point....
say we split up into two teams (with each team having there own TS channel).
we then fight over "only" one flag point.
we try to practice defending, or atacking that one position.
(the defenders could run away to get anything they may need...like a tank.
yet they still must defend that point.)
defenders, do not have to respawn at that flag....yet they must try to defend it.
we will then switch roles once the flag is switched.
(we could try other flag points as well, if needed.)

on the last night (fri), we could have an all out match...with two teams.
we still use the same map, trying to work as a team. (or two teams...lol)

each week we will try a diff map.

I'll bet that after a few months we will be far more organized and team oriented.
this will help greatly when we go up againsted other teams.

if your wondering, I spoke to Cuda (DC squad leader)
and Daywait (DC clan leader), and that's basicly how they do things there.

there have been some thoughts on if we are official at this time....
I have not had any final word on if we are from speedj.
this is my fault.
(in my eyes we are a clan, yet it's not my vote that counts)

maybe one or two of the members know that my dad has been real sick lately.
over the last few weeks I have been doing all I can to help him, and this has been taking away alot of my time.

today, on my father's birthday, I had to rush him to the hospital.
while things are not that bad, they are not that good.
it seems he now has anemia....I have no idea what kind yet.
I got home from the hospital at 8:00pm and have been on the phone all night.

Hey there Tatuya , good to see ya again . ;)

Mica is officially the "big dog" for the (still not quite official) [OCG] BF:V clan .
We now practice weekly TUE/THUR/FRIDAY 10:00PM EST/7:00PM PST . Fridays are more about fun and gaming on differant maps than regular practice , but it also helps us get to know how each of us play as individuals and as a team .
We are still lucky enough to have/use "Wookiecrisp's" server for our practices , etc ; as Wookiecrisp has been with us from the start and 100% at the meetings/practices .
Sooooo.....just join us same as last time , over at [OCG] overclockedgamerz.com and then on "web chat" . From there we go to TS2 (teamspeak2) on our own BF:V channel .

Sorry I missed you guys .

I had a MAJOR problem with a new tv purchase for my mom from CircuitCity that required ALOT of my time last week from wed to sunday :mad: . I ended up driving 80 miles away (to the new house) to somewhat clear up the matter (but some problems are still ongoing) .
Iam back at the home in Pasadena for now , and will be present for TONIGHTS practice (I PROMISE) .
