OK, so I can't leave well enough alone. I downloaded WinXP RC2 and I am planning on installing it. I am running Win2k and would like to install WinXP on a seperate hard drive. I would like to continue using Win2k as my primary OS. I was reading several articles and I learned that the 2 OS's need to be on seperate hard drives or seperate partitions, and that you also need to choose the "clean install" option from the WinXP setup screen. I basically want to try out XP, but not have it trash Win2k. Any advice would be appreciated.
In order for windows 2000's bootloader to recognise XP, you'll have to fresh install both... starting with XP, then installing windows 2000 on a separate partition/harddrive.
I know of no other way.

Pinky,
Thanks for the advice. I read up on multibooting (http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/administration/management/mltiboot.asp) from a link provided by FastEddie at dslreports.com. It seems like a hassle if I install XP to a different drive or partition. I would also have to install my apps twice, once for each OS in it's own partition/drive. I think I'll stick to Win2k for now.
