Hey,

a while ago I upgraded to a microsoft wireless mouse but found the extra weight too much so I then went out and got a mx500. I find this mouse to be a little big (I prefer to use my fingers to move my mouse around and the size of the mx500 doesn't really cater for this) and a bit heavy (even with the inside weight removed).

So now I'm thinking of buying yet another mouse :P this time something that is small(ish) and above all light and responsive. At first I was thinking of a mx300 but i can't find any stores in my area that still sell them and I'm unsure about the mx310.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a light mouse that won't skip in games (I've got a crappy logistar optical that is nice and light but will leave me looking at the floor or sky if i turn too fast :P). And also if anyone would be kind enough to weigh their mouse for me (mx310 or microsoft equivalent) ^_^

the microsoft tilt intellimouse 4.0 is a sweet alternative to logitech's MX line products. there were similar thread on gaming section some times ago, but I couldn't find it .. basically people recommend either microsoft or logitech MX line.

i personally use MX310 and I like it (mind you that I have small hands with short fingers .. but very muscular :D) ..

i owned a mx500, gave that to my brother, and now i have the microsoft intellimouse explorer 4.0 and the mx700...
MX700 is quite a bit heavier than the microsoft because of the batteries, and probably the same goes with the microsoft wireless.

I can't remeber whether how light the MX500 was even without the weight... but i have to say that my microsoft mouse is almost 1.5-2x lighter than the mx700

also if you want it to glide much more easily, try looking into getting some pads for the bottom of the mouse. those might help.

I suggest the Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical. You can buy them OEM for less than $20 and are super responsive. My favorite mouse by far. I'm even writing my current college essay on one of them.

I took apart my mouse and there was actually a brass weight in there, so check your mice before moving on.

The Microsoft Intellimouse Optical is good since it's light, has an ambidextrous design, and is pretty cheap. I've had 3, and they were really nice.

I have a Logitech MX500 and a MX700 and I love them both, they fit my hand perfectly even when I grip them at different angles. You must have some really small hands. ;)
