Hey ya'll. I was wondering if the NF7-S BIOS chip (not the BIOS itself, duh) is compatible with the Ultra Infinity. I'd be awesome to have a backup BIOS.

The chips are the same size, but made by different manufacturers. Does anyone know if it'll work? At the very least, is there any reason to not give it a shot? I.E. you'll fry your board?

Yes it will work, in fact I have 3 bios chips that I have hot flashed to my NF2 Ultra Infinity.

1 from a nf7s v1.0 - This one is in my Ultra Infinity right now.

1 from a nf7s v1.2

1 from a nf7 v2.0

Oringinal Infinty bios chip put away for safe keeping with official bios on it.

I have each bios chip flashed to different bios to play with.

By the way you can't use winflash to flash these bios chips, you need awdflash. I use awd823z.

I don't know if alt-f2 would work or not , never tried it for this.

:)

Alright, sounds good. I knew I couldn't use Winflash. I'll probably make a DOS boot CD and flash from my hard drive.
