Hey guys I can't seem to get my asus V7700 deluxe to enable tv out in win 2k. I've got the 7.97 driver. It just doesn't work. I've tried the registry patch thing but it just won't work even though I can select tv out. When I select it nothing happens it just stays on my monitor. I've tried everything I can think of. Got any ideas?
I had problems like that in Win98 on my MSI GF2 GTS w/tv-out. I removed the little daughter board and cleaned it w/ alcohol, then replaced it. I installed the drivers that came with the card, and then it worked. DOn't know which step did it, But I am almost sure it needed the drivers from the manufacturer.
My theory- All GF2s are pretty much the same, but the little TV-out daughterboards are all different.
I saw an OEM GTS that did not have the daughterboard but had TV-out still, I seem to remember.
What patch do you mean, not CoolBits right?

It's was a registry patch to enable tv-out without a reboot. I found this at geforcefaq.com but this doesn't help. My card is an asus v7700 deluxe. It has video in and out but no removable daughter card so I can't use your method. I've tried changing drivers but it just doesn't seem to work. I thought that I had screwed up the card while I was tweaking stuff inside my computer but I tried it on another one and it works fine. What should I do? I really need the tv-out but I don't want to go back to the win9x OS system. Need help badly!
Well, if it has a built in TV-out you DEFINATELY need the manufacturer's driver set, not just a Det or NED- try the official drivers ASUS shipped with the card.
Make sure you install drivers correctly- gotta remove 'em completely before putting in new ones. Remove your card, reboot to a "default VGA", then install the new drivers.
If you aren't forced to boot at 640x480 with 256 colors at least once, you aren't doing it right.
Are you saying it works in win9X but not win2000? if so you are just out of luck until someone writes a 2000 driver file for it, I think.
This sounds like a real pain in the *55, I hope you can sort it out.
