I bought a 9800 Pro 128m awhile ago. Its a awsome card but i hear people getting really really good performance out of it. I get great performance but not as much as i thought it should be. I was getting 32 fps on UT2k4 at 1024x768 about full detail, is abit choppy at times. If anyone could help me or point me in a direction of a guide to sqeeze what i can out of it, it would be most helpful. Thank you

Dont understand the program all that great but i know a decent amount. It seems that when the core goes up, 378 without any over clocking but it got to 390 and the framerate dropped hmm i dunno ill need to figure it out.

Sounds like the card is overheating. Hence the lower frames. Try better cooling.

Sometimes, if You push the card too far, the performance will start to drop. As soon as you figure out the max OC's that give you the max performance (3Dmark03), then download Radlinker and set your clock speeds (in the control pannel).

BTW, that is way low FPS in ut2k4. Mine is smooth as butter with pretty much all eye candy to max and 1600*1200 resolution (online play, havent tried single player yet). I was getting crappy performance at 1024*768, but then I upped it to 1600*1200 and it was WAY smoother. No idea why.

Edit: The speeds in my sig (for my vid card) are with stock cooling. Keep in mind that not all cards are the same, some may OC better than others. Just a heads up. ;)

You might want to take off the heatsink and check out the thermal paste and also make sure the heatsink is seating correctly...when I took off my stock heatsink...there wasn't hardly any thermal paste at all...not enough to cover the complete core...also, if you have any AS3 or AS5...replace the factory thermal paste with that...
