Would anybody care to elaborate on the installation of the mods and bonus packs in UT? Are they self installing or do I have to extract them and then install and if so do I have to sort through the individual extensions and copy them to the correct directories?

Is there a less painful method to install mods, maps, textures and skins, such as a little utility that will search the files and put them in all the right place?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has questions such as these.

Hi ROBB23, I thought the umod self installed but now when I double click it I don't think that is happening as windows asks me what util I want to use to view the file.

In that window you should see the option for "setup" chose that, ive had to install umod's that way before.

he said it all but its not that much of a hassel to move the files into the correct files if you know what your doing just get used to it.

P.S> UT has one of the worst organization systems of files there just every where.

HL is much more org.

Nope, no option for "setup". It just keeps asking me to click the program I want to use to open it with in the "Open With" window. I have a feeling I now have the wrong file associated with the UMOD extension - how do I get out of this and get it to install itself ?:(

Found the prob, setup.exe was missing from UT. I installed it in another folder and compared the two system folders. After I did a new install then right clicking on UMOD gave me the install option - phew.

Put my old user and UT ini files in and works like a charm. Installed the B-packs etc and can log on to [Oc]acaridans sight once more - now I'm a happy camper again - oops, not literally, camping is not fair play :D
