Hi, I was looking at newegg and saw the 2400XP-M is $16 cheaper then the 2500XP-M. I know, I know, you OCers prolly don't worry about that extra money, but I'm running on a budget :| .. How fast will the 2500XP-M go over the 2400XP-M. The ones I'm looking at both have 512K L2 .. Whats your thourghts?

If you're on a budget, go for the 2400 Mobile. From what I see, they all tend to OC to around the same speeds.

the 2400's have been taking alot more Vcore to hit higher oc's , there still getting good oc's. just not as high as the 2500's

over all there both good just 2500 will oc lil better how much really cant tell depends on the chip.

I have one 2400 will do 2400MHz at 1.75V on WC and it won't OC any higher stablely. Another one does 2250MHz at 1.6V, have not tried any higher speed due to cheap Heatsink. I'm sure this one will be higher. If the core color is purple it seems to OC better than the green core.

The pic doesn't lie. Pay the extra $16 and get the 2500+ :)

The mobile chips usually clock alot better at lower voltages but there are always exceptions. I paid a little extra and got a 2600-m and it clocks great!

Mine is running at 10.5x240=2520 @ 1.75v
DFI Infinity Motherboard
Corsair 3500c2 DDR

Get the XP2500 and avoid the guess work and have some peace of mind. My mobile XP2500 is great.

Nice clock there Oni , Whats your Vcore with that clock ?

1.775. 12 hour Prime stable. 4 hour 3dMark 2k1 stable :)

I got the 13x mult by applying the wire trick seen in one of the stickies at the top of this forum.
