stupid search button, cant get rid of it

works. strange thing is it doesnt come up all the time. just randomly. whenever it does come up, i get a webpage that i cant close.

Looks like your computer has a case of spywareidus. I'm perscribing a dose of AdAware (www.lavasoft.nu) and Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to be taken immediately and every few weeks following. And I also reccomend switching away from IE and moving to a better browser like Mozilla (www.mozilla.org) or FireFox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) to avoid future infections.

already have spybot , but it didn't find anything. which browser is better mozilla or firefox?

I prefer Mozilla but a lot of people like Firefox. Just try them both and see which one you like better.

EDIT: You might also look into HiJackThis (http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html). It's a free reg-cleaner that might be able to do the trick. Also, AdAware will pickup stuff Spybot S&D won't and vice-versa so you may want to give AdAware a try.
