hi all, im gonna jump on the band wagon and get one. Right now i have a 1700+ 0310XPMW @ 2.4Ghz, so i realy dont need to go higher, but I just can stand everyone getting over 2.4ghz except me. Im looking to get at least 2.6ghz. my specs:

1700+@ 2.4ghz 1.75v
slk-900 with 92mm tornado
nf7-s 2.0
1gb samsung pc3200
480w tt purewpower

I was looking at the XPM 2400+ 0414RPMW, 2500+ 0410TPCW, 2600+ 0348 TPMW/XPMW.

Logicaly the 2600+ would seem to have the most potential, but Im a new to the XPM so maybe im wrong.

do you really wanna spend 100-120 dollars (us) to get 200 mhz more? i spent 80 dollars to go from 2 ghz tbred to 2.4 ghz barton... (2400+ to ~3400+)

think about that.. and then get the 2500..... because that's what i got. and i'm cool, so you DEFINATELY want to be like me.!

Great, thanks to everyones overwhelming input, ha, I decided to get the 2600+ because I still think logicaly it has the greatest chance to reach at least 2600mhz. Ill report findings later. thanks all...ha.

mate with the 2500+ (like me) u could get higher, im sure i read all over the place that the 2600+ doesnt oc as well as the 2500+ but uno its ur money.

I have gotten to almost 2.6 on my 2600+. It more or less a crap shoot of how well your chip is going to oc. You can try to get a certian stepping thats been known to overclock well, but that still doesnt garruntee anything.

oh well ,well see i suppose. besides, newegg takes returns and replacements, so ill get one i like sooner or later.

also, the reason i believe more people are reporting that the 2500+ is doing better is simply because the majority of people are buying the 2500+, thats all, simple chance. Looking at neweggs reviews for example, twice as many peopel reviewed the 2500+ than the 2400+ or 2600+. This doesnt prove im correct, but it does indicate that i might be.

i think you have something there. mine 2600+ does 2.5 with very lil' effort, 2.6 it can do as easy, 'sepc i like to keep the temps in mid 40's under load.
that's on mid-range cooling, btw. i am sure with watter and high voltage it could do 2.7+

FWIW, my XP-M2600 OC's better than either of two the XP-M2500's I've tested.
