Hi Eric,
or you can replace your chip with one that works @100Mhz of Fsb that give you more room to play.
I hope it helps you :-)
Hmmm... I was just about to say that...LOL
I'd see if you can get a hold of a 700E for that 733EB chip. Where those EB's start out at 133 FSB, with a lower multiplier, you run out of FSB settings really quickly. Plus, you wind up with a lower end number with the low multi. For example;
700E = 7 x 100FSB
733EB = 5.5 x 133 FSB
If you overclock both to the 150 FSB setting you now run at:
700E = 7 x 150 = 1050MHz (1.05GHz)
733EB = 5.5 x 150 = 825MHz
This is why the "E" chips are are generally a better candidate for overclocking. Overlocking both of these chip to the same FSB setting results in a increase of 350 MHz for the 700E, but only 92 MHz for the 733EB.
I must at this point, throw in the disclaimer that not all 700E chips will run at 150FSB Mine is not quite 100% stable at 138.5 FSB. I'm getting a BE6 II (Abit) mobo soon, that I'm hoping will do the trick. I've gotten this chip to at least post at 143 FSB on one (Abit), but the mobo has some problems that need to be repaired before I can use it. (bent pin in the cpu slot)
Also, if you decide to go looking for a "E" chip, don't rule out the 600E, mine does 954 MHz quite stably (6 x 159 FSB, but then again, not all chips will hit 159, either) Also consider the 800E, as well.
My $.02

It's a big honour my OC professor ;-)
all I do is listen your suggestion and read your posts.
Thanx my friend :-)
Awwww.....you're welcome...=)
I'm just passing on the info freely given to me by those who helped me out when I first got here. Guys like Tim, and Jeff (aka dimmreaper), and Surlyjoe, and Doc Clock, and....
I'm not discovering anything new. I'm merely a link in the information chain. Now you are too..... pass it on !!
