I wish all the stuff that requires power in your computer would tell you how much it requires on the box or something.

how am i supposed to know what and what not my power supply can handle.

right now i have a 300 w power supply, 900 mhz tbird, 3 120 mm panaflo fans (damn those things rule), 1 32x cd rom, and 1 7200 rpm harddrive.

reason i ask is because i am going to buy a 60 to 120 mm fan adapter and put a panaflo on it. i hope i have enough power

I'd go to Dan's Data (http://www.dansdata.com), he has a review of a PSU on the front page right now. In the article he goes really in depth, you'll know enough at the end probably to answer your own question.

It's the first PSU review I've seen that actually tells you something worthwhile.

what do you mean 120 mm fans are overkill? do they take too much energy?
