I am looking for a web host for my production company's website. I thought it would be easy but I thought wrong. There are so many hosts and I have read reviews of some and there seems to be alot of unhappiness. Anyways I decided to post here to see if anyone had any suggestions. I need to be hosting some video files on a website and I also need it to be as cheap as possible while getting a stable host. I dont want to host myself because then I wouldnt have any internet bandwidth left :p . I was looking at Globat.com but I checked out some reviews from different sites it seems some people have had some troubles. Its pretty crazy out there.
BTW I live in Canada, don't know if that makes a difference as far as money goes ( as in transfer of money not exchange rates :) )

Wow, I was just gonna ask this same question. I've been looking for an inexpensive but reliable service myself. Right now I'm torn between setting up my own apache server on an extra box I have or going with a company called ripplehost.com Saw some info for them on Fatwallet and have been checking out their offerings. It's $10 a year for their cheapest plan. The biggest caveat with them is that they provide NO technical assistance. As long as you have an idea on what you're doing they don't look too bad. I'm bummed out that I missed the 1 and 1 freebie.

Two of my friends are on Verve (http://vervehosting.com/) and love it. $10 for 10 Gigs of bandwidth and 200mb of space ain't bad. Their tech support is really good. It's a US company though, so $US.
Might also want to check out another one of iNet's forums, http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ .. they have a lot of stuff there.

Another funny thing. While browsing the forums here, I followed an ad link for 2mhost.com 1.50 per month, 50 megs of storage (kinda low) but they say unlimited monthly traffic. Time to research a little more.
Thanks for the info and linky su root.
edit - After reading a little more on 2mhost and checking the forums over at webhostingtalk, I don't think I would recommend them based on your needs. In fact, I'm not sure I would recommend them for my limited needs.

Yeah my biggest problem is that I need to host videos, so Transfer is a pretty important thing. One of my freinds uses dreamhost.com and she says she doesnt have any problems.
you can also check out the services section of the forums as there are a few members who are hosting resellers. Definitely read up on it at webhostingtalk though :D
