View Full Version : A Question to all the 1.4 T-Bird owners???
Here's my question?? From reading various reviews of the AMD1.4 T-bird chip it seems this baby will not oc to 1.6 Ghz stable. I have mine running at 1.55 stable but I cannot oc to 1.6 Ghz. At this speed I get frequent lockups, windows protection errors etc. Before you ask I also have increased the Vcore to 1.97 and the symptoms above still remain. Some suggest it is a PSU problem however I have an recommended 300 Watt Seasonic PSU. I'd like to hear people who got higher than 1.55Ghz barrier
My CPU code is AHJYA TYPE Y
temps 39C idle 42load

I have the 1.4 running at 1.644 right now (137x12) 1.8v, on an ABIT KT7A-Raid mobo, with Swiftech MC462A HSF. Running SETI@Home 24/7 with ambient temps of about 30 - 32c (I live in the high desert). Temps @ 30c ambient: idle 31c, full load 42c.
When the ambient is down to 21 - 22c, I can run this chip at 1.713 (137x12.5) 1.825v and it runs rock solid.
Durning this summer I am running it at 1.644 - the electric bill in So. Calif. is too high to run the A/C. But as soon as it cools down then I will crank it back up to over 1.7. I did run it for 72hrs, with Seti crunching, set at 1.713 without any problems.

I can get mine to 1684 at 1.8 volts.
When your posting could you please indicate what PSU power supply you are all using. When i change my CPU setting to 12X by 135 my PC will not boot and I have too clear CMOS for it to reboot. Whats does this indicate??? Possible PSU problem!
Are you guys taking about VCore voltage. If I adjust my VCore to 1.97 it with the CPU setting above it still won't boot. Please help has I reckon it might be a power supply problem. Also can anyone tell me what the normal Voltage settings for a 1.4AMD athlon....so I might be able to figure out this problem.

I'm using a Fortron Source 450w PSU.
Well My first post, been avid fan of overclocking and the site for a a while. My 1.4 AYHJA Y is doing 1.61 with 33 C ambient temp, it gets a temp under full load of 48 C. Yes I know how? Well MC-462A and the loudest DELTA pumping 80 CFM and two 85 CFM fans blowing in. There's nothing wrong with tis baby just fins a way to cool it and make it happy. BTW VCORE is 2.04.
I just recieved a new 1.4 AYHJA (Y)(0126) an have it running 1705 on my KK266R water cooled. Just using a generic 400 watt ps.

how can a 400w PSU be generic? its gotta have a brand... its not as if cheap case manufacturers put 400w PSUs in...
It is a Comp USA, so I call it generic because it has no name for brand.
