Like the subject says, I want to know if I can use an additive like water wetter or something with my evaporative cooler. If yes which additive should I use??

Sorry I've been of the air a while, I was suffering Code Red Worm disease , the b****** who wrote that virus should be killed immediately!

Water Wetter should not be used in a bong cooler. It will evaporate into the room and make you sick.

Anything that you add to an evaporated cooler will...... evaporate. That means that you will be breathing it. Anything that has a warning like "Harmful or Fatal if swallowed" probibly shouldn't be used.

The only thing that I can think of off the top of my head is cool mint listerene. Has anyone ever tried it?

please do NOT use listerine! it's basically sugar and alcohol...harmful if swallowed, etc.

5 drops of Chlorox per gallon is safe per Red Cross water purification guide lines. You can't smell the chlorine and it will keep things from growing. Once a week is all that's needed.

My goodness, I would hope you couldn't smell the chlorine, it is odorless and would kill you! :) Besides, the active ingredients in bleach are hypochlorite salts (e.i. KClO).

So you guys are telling me that I shouldn't use anything... Like I expected. Should I have problems if I don't use anything to keep things from growing?

Algae will probably grow if you do not change your water for a very long time but other wise it's just an eyesore. You should be more worried about molds growing in your room due to the increased air humidity from the bong. Distilled water is probably best as it has no minerals (nutrients) for the nasties to grow on unless you live in a polluted environment (inner city? industrial park?).

water wetter from redline is to only be used in a closed system only like a water cooler. btw we use it in our race car because antifreeze and goodyear slicks dont get along not cause of the cool red color :)

btw what happened to my account i had to create a new one?
