Best detonators for DX8a?

hey all.

i was just forced to change to dx8a from dx7a in order to play operation flashpoint (AWESOME game!!), and would like to know which dets you guys are using? i've a gf2 mx400, and am using 6.49s right now... do the newer ones give much better performance with dx8?

I noticed a good improvement with the 12.41 detonators. You might want to d/l 12.9 as they are WHQL certified also.

I am using 12.9 and have no problems w/ DX 8.

Never tried the 12.90s. I heard they might net you a little higher score ant the cost of some visual quality....

does anyone have the 12.90's that are WHQL certified??? For win98SE. I can only find the 12.90 betas, and would really appreciate a link or if someone can upload me the 12.90 WHQL's. Thanks!

H i when i waana play Tribes 2 i get a F*****g messeg with nummbers.... I know that has to do something with my TNT2 card becouse i tryed to ru the game in D3D and i get other numbers then with the OpenGL..... can any one help me???

first off I am going to say tribes 2 is a very buggy game, no way around that. Now most of the time its fixable. First try reinstalling the game, and patching it. If that doesnt fix it, uninstall your graphics card drivers, and renstall. Still no go? Usually directx plays a factor in most peoples problems. Download directx8a off of microsfts site. Uninstall your nvidia drivers (make sure you get all of em). Best way to do that is to go control panel, add/remove programs, and look for nvidia display drivers. Now once youve done that, reboot, and when you get back into windows it will want to reinstall your graphics card drivers. Install it in standerd vga mode first! this is important. Go to display a list of drivers, then click show all drivers, and go to standerd drivers, then select standerd vga mode. Now once youve done that, rebot again. Now install the latest directx drivers. Reboot. Now install some good nvidia drivers, id go with either 12.41's or 12.90's. reboot once again and your all set! If tribes 2 is still buggy, its probably not your graphics card!OOO and do not ever install those crappy opengl drivers that come with the tribes 2 cd!! That made me do a complete reformat it screwed my comp up so bad lol! The best opengl drivers for your card come with the nvidia drivers already! So you dont need to install opengl, you already have the best version!

Where are you getting the error?

If the error is coming from the auto-update, new.net (spyware) wormed its way onto your machine. I'd uninstall it.

Otherwise, there should be a patch out for Tribes 2 in a few days. You may want to see if it happens in a consistent spot in the game or is random. Also, check the Tribes 2 in game troubleshooting forums. They're no OC, but good for ingame stuff.
