Hi, everyone, i am a new members to this web and i've recently bought a new system the following is my system description:
AMD T-Bird 1.2Ghz c
Epox 8K7A
256 mb Hydai PC2100 DDR ram
45 Gb ATA 66 7200rpm Western Digital
40 Gb ATA 100 5400rpm Seagate U series
Gigabyte Geforce 3
Hitachi CM771 19 inch monitor .22 dot
a cooler master fans EP5-6I51
samsung 12 speed DVD rom
a huge Omni 6101G ATX case
300watt powersupply
etc
few questions:
firstly i want to know how much do you guys think i can overclock my CPU to? i need 100%stable, it's a new expensive system and i need your expert opionions.
and have you guys heard of the story about Nvidia, how the old original Geforce 3 GPU have problems that's why during May this year there is a shortage of Geforce, and it only took them about two weeks to fix it. and now all the new Geforce 3 come with a code of Geforce3 instead of NV20. because unfortunately my GF3 was made april this year, so just wondering if that matter that much? ( i didn't made all this up, i seen it in one of the most popular HongKong PC mag-PC Station).
any help would be appricate.

Hey! Welcome to the Forums! I hope you like it here, as it is a great place!

Now, If I were to take a guess, I would probably say that with GOOD cooling (Glaciator, CAK38, Swiftech) you could prolly get to 1.4GHz and run it pretty damn stable. Now dont take my word for it, as some 1.2s wont reach 1.3, but others may reach 1.6, as thay are all diferent.

Now about your Geforce3, IMHO (In My Honest Opinion), I dont think that you should have ANY problems wuth your Geforce3 at all.

Good luck and happy gaming!
