You will need a PSU that can handle 25+amps on the +12 rail...

Here are a few PSU's that can handle a 226 pelt and the system...wont need 2 PSU's...

PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 510

Enermax EG851AX-VH 660w

"This is also one of few supplies on the market with abundant amperage on the 12v rail to power a 226w TEC and your PC, thus eliminating the need for an additional power supply."

(I personally am going with the PC 510 and a swiftech 462+T setup within the next month or two)

since you already have one power supply for your computer, it would be a lot cheaper to just buy a good 25 amp 12 volt power supply.

The Meanwell S320-12 is really popular for this.

So this should work...

Super Flower 550W Power Supply
+3.3V 35A
+5V 50A
+12V 30A
Total Output 550W Max

no it wont, those amperage are max value, ie with minimum load on the other rails, you wont get 30A on 12V rail if the +5V and +3.3V have good load on it. And @ what temperature can the psu gives 550W? The higher the ambient (summer) the lower the output (for safe operation).

IMO, running a 226W pelt AND your comp off only one psu is REALLY asking for trouble.

you also need to take into account the ~20 amp draw of the cpu and other compoents.

Looks like a fine PS but that's kinda expensive. ;(

Could get the SuperFlower and and a 12v supply I saw especially for the 226w TEC that fits in a 5.25 drive bay.

Thanks everyone for the info, and thanks glock19owner for the links... very helpful.
