so my dad has an 800mhz dell. he had a corrupted hdd like last year, so my bro installed a new 60gb drive, along with winxp pro. a few weeks back, he started having problems on websites where some of the pictures would not show up. (Major league baseball site, expedia, etc) he uses zonealarm pro, the newest version. so i tried disabling zonealarm..nothing. then changing all of the settings i knew of in internet settings. finally we were just fed up with it. so we formated the hard drive. and it works.
well yesterday, it started happening again. and he had not installed anything when it happened.
i have no idea what the heck is wrong. any ideas? i dont want to make this a once a month ordeal.....

have you made sure that your internet connection is consistent? seems like its halting during page loads and not getting all the graphics. happens to me from time to time.

positive. most websites work just fine, just a select few that do not

uninstall zonealarm...not that its bad or anything but if u want to see pics on sites and such then uninstall zonealarm...i have ZA and ive noticed with some programs that require the net wont connect unless i have ZA running and prompt me to allow the program to connect to the net...so disabling it makes it worse

ZA = the devil, use black ice pc protection its like 5 megs and its not bloatware like ZA
Look in the event viewerr and I bet yo have true vector alerts like mad..i have never seen Zone alarm on an XP system that dont create a little chaos...I am sure there are some it don't but for me I hate zone alarm on XP Pro.
