View Full Version : Best coolers for PIII?

I have a PIII dual 500 system in our server room that has a heatsink on both processors with a fan blowing air through a plastic conduit over them. I know this is not the best way to cool a CPU, especially when the room stays near 80 degrees F even with the A/C on.

I am looking for a better CPU cooler for this system. I have heard the Antec P3D is good. But I don't want to go off one test set.

Are there any good sites to look at temp comparisons?

Where would I looke, and does anyone have recommendations on a cooler to use?

Also I need to clarify that these are slot CPU's, and if I could I would throw away this server and build a new one, but that is not my decision to make.

Hi r_c_kane, wellcome to the Forum,
The best coolers for your chip are the Alpha P3125 & the GlobalWin vos32, are bigger, efficient and have double fans on the Heat Sink.
For the comparison well, you can take a look on http://www.tomshardware.com and search for 'Lord Kryo II' but it's difficult that you can found on it some 'older' Slot1 cooler.

I hope it helps you :-)

Thank you very much, for the link, and the info. I don't think I will have enough room in my case for those big fans. But following the like you gave did lead me to other pages that told me that the Vantec would do well for us. And considering our current part supplier carries it I think I will be quite happy with it.

Plus anything is better than just a heatsink, Agreed?
