What program should I use to create a picture of an airplane in the sky, and then be able to take snapshots of that plane from any angle? For example, like this (http://www.airwar.ru/image/i/fighter/f26-i.jpg) or this (http://www.lowobservable.com/images/f26stalma.jpg). I've tried using Autocad 2000 but I couldn't achieve anywhere close to the level of realism I wanted. The picture should look real, not computer generated.

it can be done with Adobe Photo shop,

I don't have the skills to do it mind you. Though I de believe the wireframe of the image I saw made was done in a Cad Program

if Adobe Photo shop can accpet Autocad files then draw the wire frame in autocad and then edit it with photo shop adding textures and lighting

Are you sure about that, I always thought Photoshop was only for 2D. Isn't there a better tool for the job?

I know that you could do it with MAYA, but I bet a CAD program would be easier.

You might be able to do that with Lightwave. I've never used it, so don't ask how :p

Maya, Lightwave, 3dsMax, Rhino... list goes on. Check www.3dbuzz.com for some good 3d Modeling forums. They should be able to point you to the program that will suit you best.

All of these have a pretty steep learning curve, so have a fun time. I've been attempting to learn Maya on and off for the past 2 years.

ZModeler for the CAD work then use a seperate application for rendering like 3DS. THIS (http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~emac/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=122) was done with ZModeler.
