I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for, Currenty i have my cable modem run into my wired router's wan port, then out of one of the lan ports of the wired router to the wireless router in a different room. Well, I can get on the internet wireless, but I cannot connect to my network computers. I've tried disabling dhcp on the wireless router, no dice. I'm sure it's probably something relatively simple I'm missing here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

may wanna check that the dhcp on the wired router and the dhcp in the wireless router are throwing out different IP ranges.
Been awhile now since I had my TCP/IP class, but I think if you have say the wired router on 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.0.255 range then throw the wireless router on 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.255
What I'd try first. gl

Yeah, they're throwing different ip ranges. I'm thinking that may be the problem though. For some reason, it seems to me that the whole problem is the dhcp on the wireless router. Bah, I haven't gotten to TCP/IP class at ECPI yet, so I'm only sort of in the dark on this. Right now it's working as in sharing internet connectivity, but I cannot xfer files or print from my wireless laptop to any of my wired machines.

That is how I set mine up you just have to turn off DHCP in the wireless router and make sure it goes into a regular port oon the wireless outer not the wan port. I don't think there are any other settings that are required.
pretty much ditto what Kendan says, but to add, both routers need be on the same ip network ie 192.168.1.x etc.
what are the mfg/models of your routers? Knowing this will help.
I have the same setup, cable modem -> wired router -> wireless router. Both routers default LAN ip addy is 192.168.0.1. Before I introduced the wireless router to the LAN, I hooked up a wired pc to the wireless router on one of the switch ports, went to the admin page for the wireless router, changed the LAN ip to 192.168.0.2 and turned off dhcp option, then save the config. I then connected the wireless router to the wired router via switch ports on both with a regular cat5 patch cable.
you are right I changed the wireless routers port to access it's web control. I can't believe I forgot to mention that. But I am using two linksys routers if you are using two different brands you might not have to do it.

yah, the wired is a linksys, and the wireless is a d-link... so i like mixing things up. :D They are on different ip ranges stock, seems like last time i checked on the d-link i couldn't change 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 maybe i should go check the linksys to see if i can do the reverse on it. Thanks for the info guys, I'll try it and get back asap.

Wooo, thanks guys, it was as simple as that. The problem was, i had the incoming from the wired router going into the wan port on the wireless. Simple fix. Thanks again!!!
