Well, after frying my 1.33 I need to decide what chip to get. I read that the palomino had a internal temp diode but I don't know if my epox board supports that. I am deciding between the 1.33 and the 1.4. Which do you think will be more successful. I think price wise the 1.33 is much better.

I agree with you, I would get the 1.33, prolly better O/Cing, and it is cheaper also.

Would a 1.33 AHYJA Y really overclock better then a 1.4 AHYJA Y?

Probably about the same as far as end clock speed but if you're looking at % overclocked, the 1.33 would go higher...

So here's my deal. I have a really well ventilated case. I'm actually gonna improve it soon too. I'm gonna put a 125 cfm fan on the top to exhaust and then I can flip around my exhaust fan right near the CPU and have a nice supply of cold air moving right in at it. I also have a ThermoEngine with the Delta fan. When I o/c my 1.2 to 1.4 I usually max out at 43 C (before it crashes). Keep in mind this is with my current fan config.

Now for my question:

With my config do you think I will hit higher clock speeds with the 1.4 AHYJA Y? Even just because of heat reasons? Or do you think the 1.33 AHYJA Y will o/c to the same clock speed the 1.4 would on my system.

Just some opinions if anyone can render a guess. :)

My home system I just upped to the 1.4 two weeks ago from the 1.33. About the best I could get with the 1.33 was a little over 1.5.

With the 1.4, I am running it at 1.713 (137x12.5 1.825v) with ambient room temp at 22c. I get case temp at ambient and idle temps at 24c and running SETI 24/7 load temps of 32c. Rock Solid. The 1.4 was a better overclocker.

Now my case is a Supermicro CS760A with a Fortron Source 450w and heavily modded. I have 4 120mm 105cfm fans in the side door blowing directly onto the motherboard area, 2 80mm front fans 39.5cfm - and 1 Delta 80mm 60cfm front fan and of course all sucking in. With the Delta mounted on the front bottom of the case I have a flex duct from the fan to the cpu fan - which is a Swiftech MC462a. Behind the CPU on the rear of the case I have a 120mm 105cfm blowing out - another 120mm 105cfm above the PSU blowing out and 2 120mm 105cfm top mounted blowing out.
That's 559cfm intake, and 420 + PSU fan blowing out. Plenty of Possitive pressure.

Is it load? The local airport is trying to file an injuction.

.. Cool (literally) :)

Do you know the codes on your 1.33 and 1.4 by any chance?

Actually no. I don't remember what the codes were.

You posted that you wanted to turn the fan behind the CPU around so that it was blowing in. It is better to have it blowing out - that way the heat being blown off the HS has something sucking it out of the case sooner. Try running flex ducting - from a building supply store, attaching it to a front mounted fan, sucking in, and running it to the CPU fan. You'll have good ambient air being force fed to the CPU. Worked great on my rig.

The only change that I would now make would be to mod my bar frig. with a fan inside of the frig. a cut out in the door and a duct running to the bottom fan of my case.

You should look for a 1G AYHJAY R core CPU, they will do a minimum of 1.6G and some have gone as hogh as 1.8G
