What can this go up to and what settings should I use.

I am new to this, but I have
512mb of 133 (good) ram
Just put a chunky HSF on with a rear exhust blower.

Hi the doctor, wellcome to the Forum,
Theorically you can rise the Fsb to 150 or 166Mhz, trought Bios, from the original 133Mhz (the only way to OC it), but more depends by your temps, never must be over 40-45 degree C @full load, and by your mem module.

I hope it helps you :-)

I cannot get my 800EBMhz + BE6-2 to go over 115, BIG LOSS!
INTEL NEVER AGAIN!

You might just have gotten a lousy chip for overclocking. Some just won't go. Not every chip overclocks the same, some are really good, some are really bad, most are somewhere in between.

Sounds like you might have gotten a bad one, but if you could take the moment or so to detail the rest of your system, perhaps we could help you a bit better. (or at least I might be able to. I'm not familiar with what you've got in your rig)

What do you have for a hsf, expansion cards (vid, sound, etc..), PSU, drives, etc... ?? What's the "S" code on the P///? Have you ever run a different chip on the board (BE6 II) with good results?? Have you got everything in the BIOS/SoftMenu III set correctly??

Just curious, you really should get more from that cpu, but again, you might have gotten a duck...

Mr B

Excuse me Doc,
but do your have a P/// 800 E or EB?
you wrote EB so it must works at 133Mhz of fsb (standard), if E works at 100Mhz of fsb!
You are speaking of no more than 115Mhz so I suppose that you've got a 800E, otherwise you are underclocking your 800EB.

I hope it helps to understand :-)

I have an 800EBMhz processor.
I just got the thing to work.

Core voltage 1.95
I/O voltage 3.20

Catch Latency 10
(Catch may be off at 10)

But those settings seem to work...Now I can run at 133Fsb
I used to have to UNDERCLOCK at 115 to get my comp to work!
I have not tried to overclock yet.

Yman, that CPU core voltage sounds a little high.

Doc, a "chucky" heatsink ain't quite enough info. Increasing voltage also dramatically increases heat. Exactly what CPU cooler do you have? What are your CPU load temps? Are you using thermal paste?

Not sure where you got the 115mhz from??

It is an EB, and runns at standard at 133.

I have increased this to 146 and increased the core to 1.70

The thing I dont understand is the temps.

When running at pre-set 800 133 on full load I have temps at about 62C I over clocked and it run at 73c I have now taken the case off and back to 62c room is at 24c

I have a large HSF with an exhaust and by the way people are talking I should not touch the 60s at alleven on standard settings??

Jeez Doc, those temps are smokin' hot...you should be running 20 degrees cooler. Better back up and start thinking about some cooling mods. I bet you're using that crappy "heat tape" that came with the cooler. Yank that off and try using a good quality thermal paste.

Any cpu temps over 70C will destroy your cpu!
I cant understand how it's still running!

You will need more than thermal paste!
How about a high quality CPU cooler!?!

Excuse me Doc,
I've confused your message with Yman's, I'm sorry :-)
Your temps, like others just sayd, are absolutly high and very dangerous, NEVER it must go over 50 degree C!
probably all depends by your cooler, but for the moment I wanna suggest you to came back to the standard values, to take a deep wiev of the problem.
Can be the cooler not right seated on the Cpu or a wrong temps reported by the program (very difficult).

actually according to intel they cant go over 80...but still, that things probly gonna last him a month if he doesnt get the temps down...

Strange thing is I have had this PC for about 6 months.

The temp is reported by the bios and also by sandra.

I have just changed the HSF from the one that came with the unit to a chunky one with a big heat sink, it is using paste and not tape.

and these are the temps if I do NOT even over clock!

I have over clocked now FSB up to 146 and the temps are 62.5 with the sides off, and this is the same temps I get if I run at FSB 133 with the sides on!

Touch the base of you heatsink after it has run for a while.
Is it warm or hot?
