Question about Router

i purchased a belkin router for about 60 bux after rebates from frys a few months back. my question is how safe are they? do they give extra protection to the network at my house? i have enabled the wap key, disabled ssid, and setup a firewall. is it still possible though for someone to access my computer from a wireless standpoint, or am i pretty safe from someone getting in. is there anything else i should think about or maybe change? any suggestions are appreciated. thnx :cool:

Sounds like you took most of the basic steps. You should be fine. One other item you should look into right away is the passwords for accounts. Make sure that you change the default Admin password on the Belkin. Otherwise, a hacker can set up the router any way they see fit.

No machine is 100% safe but it sounds like you're close.
