For me the price is right and it seems like it'll power my system long enough for it to shut down. What does everyone else think?

Sounds good for the price. Belkin is a good name. But check this 625VA out here (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=42-102-003&depa=0)

I'd prefer to stay away from non-name-brands. I was doing some more looking and found this (http://www.iunitek.com/iunitek/index.cfm?fuseaction=shop.dspSpecs&part=740377) APC 750VA UPS for about the same price.

I love my APC. It is definitely a name brand. They're one of the first to develop UPS's. Go APC, you won't be sorry. They have been in the business longer than belkin.

Tripp-Lite is also good I have the BCPro1050 1050VA and it has served me well through MANY power outages (I go to boarding school and the building is 135 years old needless to say the wiring isn't really up to snuff). We also use APC for all our network stuff. Stick with APC and Tripp-Lite they are good brands.
