View Full Version : Dual Monitor Gaming
I've looked all over the web for information on how to do dual monitor gaming. I know UT supports it, but I can't get it to work full screen. Any and all help would be appreciated.
How exactly you trying to do this? I can't for the life of me figure out why... most video cards either clone display (same image on both monitors) or allow you to display apps on different screens, but then you'd have to run 2 instances of your game simultaneously, and I don't know a lot of systems that can do that with any level of performance.
here is an example. With one monitor you could set the resolution to 1280x1024. But with a dual head card you could set the res. to 2560x1024 and span it across two screens. You see what I mean?
i dont think that would be 2 good. where ur monitor end there is probably an inch of platic or metal after the screen ends. the same on the other monitor. now, there will be 2 inches separating the exact middle of ur screen. that is where the crosshair is is most games. the guys moves a little to the left, or a little to the right then u have to scan over 2 inches. i mean, its not that bad, but i think it would get really annoying and it would be harder to aim. also, i dont think quake supports resolutions like that.
But if you had some kind of monitor (LCDs mabey?) that didn't really have much of a border around the screen, it wouldn't be too bad. Of couse, I think keeping it on one screen would be best. I don't have any neat 3d games (the best I have is a Descent 3 demo, and after that, I think everything is DOS!) so I don't know how much incresasing the horizontial resolution would help on a game nowdays.
I REALLY need to get some new games!
