I recently bought an Alpha Pal6035 w/ Delta and was wondering which is better, having this behemoth cooler blowing on the HS or sucking air away from it?

I remember reading some article on it, but can't remember where...duh.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !!!

Thanks!

Would71 brought up a good point about Hoots thread. It's a must read for overclockers. Hope you got a little time though it may take a while. But it will explain what types of HSF's should blow and what types should suck. As well as any other question you may have about cooling your PC or CPU. Heres the link to the article that Hoot's thread was about.

I agree to do your research. Better yet to do your own.

Try both ways and see which works out best for you. Each system is different and will respond differently to each setup.

I think the key to the suck/blow question one is simply trial and error. It not only depends on your HS but on the arrangement of other fans in the case.

One of my cases had been giving me really high CPU temps until I reversed the flow on the thermoengine fan. Because the case is so small the HSF sits right beneath the fan on the side of the Enermax PSU. To start with the Enermax fan was sucking into the PSU and only a few millimeters above the thermoengine fan which was pulling air in the opposite direction! Now that the HSF is sucking it is being assisted by the PSU fans and my CPU temp has dropped by 6C.

Try both and seewhich is better, but keep an eye on temps just incase!!
