I ws wondering how reliably dual t-birds would run together as compared to the palomino's. Is it a requirement to use palomino's or is it by preference only?
Thanks

I think if they are both non-overclocked, they would both run extremely reliably, with little or no problems. And I dont think it is exactly NEEDED, but I do think that it is reccomended, only because the Palominos were kind of 'Made' for SMP, and are faster then the T Birds

From what I hear, the only CPU's supported by AMD to be run SMP are Athlon MP's (Palomino). I had heard though that dual TBirds can be made to work. What excites me more is dual Morgans- inexpensive, fast, powerful SMP (As soon as a decently priced dual board becomes available).

regular tbird WILL run in a dual board- but the MP chips jsut run faster at the same clock speed thats why the 1.2 MP is more than the 1.2. never the less 2 1.2gig tbird i dont think youll sorry about speed anymore
As far as I know you need the MP, they have a different bus architecture that is needed for multi-proc. Which is why they are called MP :) If a regular t-bird will work in that board, I dont think it would be working properly at any rate.

also the MP chip will run fine in a single socket board with no prblems- both setups have been ran by wild andy c
