hello all,
first time posting here, so i'm a noob:p

first what i'e got......
P4 2.8 Sl6Z5 costa rica chip
Asus P4C800-E deluxe mb
Corsair 1gig 2matched sticks xms PC3200 memory
Kamkasai heat sink fan
36.6 gig WD raptor, 80 gig WD hdd's
Radeon 9600 pro vid card
Scorpio skull case with 6 fans (yes, sounds like a leaf blower, but good air flow!) and 400w ps
lite-on cd burner

Was running at 3.5 ghz stable for many weeks now, and recently
bumped to 3.6 ghz with a fsb of 257 memory at 5:4 timings at
2:3:3:6:8
happy that I've broke the 3.6 barrier(solid so far, still in burn-in process) on air cooling,
temps are ok at 29c idle and 45c full load
bumped up v-core to 1.5875v in bios, but cpuid posts it at 1.616
which is ok, but seems to bounce around between 1.59v and 1.616v not a lot, just every now and then I notice it.....is this normal? seems that I've read somewhere that Asus boards are known for this .......

Welcome to the forums :)

Nice overclock!

I'll let someone with a P4C800 handle your question.

Yup, those fluctuations are completely normal.

My Asus mobos tend to overvolt whent he CPU is idling, and undervolt when the CPU is at full load.

if u dont feel comfortable with all the drooping do the droop mod on your board or stablize your Rails on your PSU by doin a mod...u might can find that mod in the modding section

i hit 3.7 ghz on my 2.4c mo with no modding and it works fine. belive me that as you go higher and higher you arent really seeing any difference. You are just making everything unstable.

I can get up to 3.7 but dont i keep it at 3.3 and its fine but still notice i get better performance in games with it just at 2.4.

seems like it is loosing track of data in bus.
