Ya, know... I've been thinking... perhaps flourinert and submerged boxes do work... put it's geekish joy at best, what about, this as an option to compete on the supercomps market?

Let's say a large tank, and 8 boxes running at 5 Ghz each, that would justify the gear (pumps, external cooling, etc.)...

Anyone thought of that? Also MFLOPS-wise? Would be great for low-budget research e.g. (or boosting your seti@home scores)
 
Last time I checked it was 500 a gallon and thats for the cheap stuff. 3m's patent might have expired though but I'd imagine it is prohibitively costly to manufacture, and therefore the competition is probably nonexistant.
