Want an opinion on what would be the best Socket A heatsink that meets the following criteria:

1. Must use 27cfm fan (fan can be bought separately or bundled)
2. Must keep a non-overclocked T-bird 1.1GHz under 50C at full load for extended periods of time.
3. Cheaper the better, as long as cooling is under 50C

A friend of mine is having problems with his OEM heatsink, and wants a new one, even though he doesn't know it yet ;) With 8 computers in 1 room, noise is a big factor, which is why the delta38 is right out. And since he doesn't know that he wants a new heatsink yet, price will be important. (recommended places to buy from would be appreciated as well)

The Milenium Glaciator is suposed to be very good and very very quiet.

Hi vimal,
you can think also to a GlobalWin Fop32, it's cheaper but I don't know if you found it without the fan.

I hope it helps you :-)

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal than this.

The noise level of the 30 cfm fan really isn't bad at all, and the cooling performance isn't far behind the screamin' delta 38.

Richard - thanks for the link to that site, they have some awesome prices.

Which do you all think is better: Alpha 6035 w. 30cfm, Fop32 w. 26cfm, or the Golden Gate w. 30cfm. I think all 3 should handle 50C easily, right?

I think they'll all, "get the job done." Of those 3 I'd pick the golden gate, alpha, and globalwin, - in that order.

Thanks for all your help

I think i'll go with the golden gate and 30cfm fan, along with a nice tube of ASII.
