I have time now to try and improve my 3D perfromance of my system. I have overclocked my system to 2388MHZ, FSB217x11 on the multiplier.
She is very stable on Prime95 and my memory timings are 6-2-2-2. I am happy with it, and now I want to try and improve on my 3D mark 03. My last score was 5666 and I really do not know how good that is??
My video card is an ATI Radeon 9800PRO 128mb card. I really do not want to do anything that may damage the card but I would like to improve its performance. What should be my first tweak on this card??
Any links to threads that would get me started on my first tweak would be appreciated!!

Excellent and simple program to overclock ATI cards.

Should I look at reflashing the BIOS on this card or is it too risky for the NET gain in performance??

it cant really do any damage to the card, the most that goes wrong is that it artifacts if yioou the flash goes bad, and to fix that all you do is flash the card back to its original bios.

no, flashing the bios is pointless, it does nothing, unless u have the 256mb 9800 pro and ur flashing it to the xt, its just too risky

Would anyone that is using ATITools on their 9800PRO 128 MB card, care to share some conservative setting to start with??

Start from stock, then test the core and memory independantly. ATItool will raise the clocks on its own. Generally, you can watch it and you'll see where the highest clock will end up being. Once you hit your max clock, ATItool starts to slow the card down.
From my experience, you can usually take the max clock, subtract 5-7mhz and use that as your overclock. Get some other opinions on the best way to approach the tool though.

it wouldnt be as much as a risk if your card can do XT speeds no matter if its 256MB or 128MB...its just a bios not memory....there are many successful at flashing their 128MB and the ones who havent been are the ones who dont kno what they are doin no offense and the card that tried to be flashed below XT speeds.....be4 flashing make sure you have fair cooling....can do XT speeds with no artifacts...and study on how to do it which is easy for a little bit then give it a shot....make sure you ALWAYS save your original bios which there is a thread that will teach you how to do all of this...
