Hello All,
I am new to the forums here but I am an overclocker my self. Right now i have a pathedic setup, except for my mobo :) An Amd Athlon XP 2000, Some cheap heatsink and crapy ram. Now what i plan on upgrading to is in the following:

:: Cpu Heatsink ::
Thermalright SP-97 Heatsink:
http://www.excaliberpc.com/product_info.php?products_id=3148
Price: $49.00

:: Cpu Fan ::
Vantec TD9238H 92mm Tornado Case http://www.computerhq.com/products/partinfo-id-3871.html
Price: $12.00

:: Cpu ::
AMD Mobile Athlon XP 2500+, 266 FSB, 512K Cache – OEM
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-401&depa=1
Price: $91.00

(Dont mind the price, thats for my reference ^_^)

Now with that setup there, what would be the best ram? I got an Abit NF7-S v2.0 and my current ram is a nice single stick from Kingston, its PC 2700. I am looking for the best overclock possible with that cpu and a ram combo. I at least want to hit 2.4ghz. Now i know that Mobile Athlons are best for overclocking, now is that cpu in that link a good one for overclocking? I just dont want to disapoint my self again...Also just to mention i plan on running on air and i know its not to good for OC but thats suppost to be the best heatsink & fan combo ( I know its loud as hell :P ). Thanks for all your guys help. Later all!

I think you've hit a good combo going there. Someone posted a link to a sound file of a Tornado in the cooling section. I'd highly reccomend getting a fan controller with it if you don't already have one.

All I know about RAM is that my Kingston ValueRam sucks. You might try asking over in the memory section if you don't get any replies here.

What's the stepping (black label) on the 2000+? Mine does 2.6ghz just fine on water. If you used the SP-97, I think you could hit 2.5-2.6ghz on my chip just fine. However, most 2000+'s don't OC like mine :D

The mobile barton should be fine, but my brother has one and on high-end air and a NF7-m, I could only hit 2.3ghz @ 1.95v :( He paid less for it too... Newegg msut be raising their prices.

Im more or less asking what brand/speed of ram should i buy to get the best overclock? I may have posted this in the wrong section of the forum, but i am looking for the best ram to go with that cpu to reach the highest overclock. I need to reclaim the faster computer of the house (plus max. performance in gaming land;) )

BH-5, simple one.

getitng haqrd to come by, and it loves voltage. mine runs at 3-2-2-2, 223 FSBon my NF7-S, however, the NF7-S is currently limiting my FSB. a pin trick,i 've heard, can get the FSB up to 250's on this board. i'll be doing that after i move into my new house and get my stuff out of storage.

check the stickey in the mem section for BH-5. Mushkin black lvl2 is BH-5, but check hte stickey. it even has links to the products.
