I need specific instructions on how and what the easiest way is to install a temp monitor on my cpu. Hoot sent me an email on how to do it, but even that confused me. I'm not looking for EXACT temps, just pretty close. I know my motherboard temps are off because they seem way too low.

Abit, has pretty good CPU temp monitoring, becuase the thermistor in the socket can be bent up to contact the bottom of the CPU. This will give a good reliable CPU back temp.

If you want to get an accurate representation of what the die temps are like you need to get a flat thermistor and place it directly on the ceramic. (NOT the CPU die. Duh..) The tip of the thermistor should be just touching the die of the CPU. Tape it in place. Make absolutely certain that the thermistor is not going to interfere with the heatsink.

Do a test fit. Outside of the case of course. Eyeball the whole setup to make sure that you're not causing any problems with heatsink contacting the core. Once you're satisfied that everything is as it should be put the whole shebang together and you're set.

Get something like a compunurse monitor and hook up the thermistor.
