How r yas?

Im buildin up a computer for a friend and i got him a xp2500 which he will never overclock! I have a xp2600 in my own machine, so should i do him a swap?

Thanks

They both overclock similar, no way to tell unless you try them both in the same system.

I'd take the 2500+ IMHO.
Most likely the chip is locked, it's easier to get the 2500 to 200x11 than the 2600 to 200x11.5.They both statistically max out at ~2200-2250.
(Different story are the XP-Ms)

Lower multiplyer gives you more room for manoover.
Plus 2500 is better as for cost/performance.

But it's all statistics.
A single 2600+ may be better than a stigle 2500 and vice versa.

Yeah, good call, if they're both locked, you want to look at what your max FSB is, then decide accordingly.

MHz speed = FSB x (locked) multiplier

2500+ has 11
2600+ (Barton) has 11.5

Watch out, there are 2600+ T-Breds as well...

Cheers for the replies, i think i will just stick with my 2600 then order myself a nice new 2500-m very soon :)

Cheers fellas
