If you were going to build a computer with 2 Gigs of RAM, would you go with 2 One gigabyte sticks or 4 512 sticks? I'm talking about PC3200 DDR Ram too. Is one setup going to be quicker than the other. I'm thinking 4 512's but am not sure. Any info is appreciated.

Can I ask why you want 2 GB period; not like anything needs it in terms of gaming, etc. Personally I'd go with the 2 1 GB sticks if you REALLY want a better system as two sticks=more efficient than 4 and so on.

I'm guessing he is trying to link other computers together to equal a homemade supercomputer or folding/seti that requires a lot of power:D

2 sticks of 1GB is more efficient than having 4 sticks of 512MB.

The 2 1GB would cost more than 4 512MB RAM.

I would go for the 2 1GB stick RAM.
