View Full Version : just got my DDR but...
I just got my Crucial DDR pc2100 but when I ordered it I had no choice pertaining to the CAS. The only thing I found was the SDRAM timing which they lable as CL2.5 now if I am correct that means it is CAS2.5.
I only thought there was CAS2 and CAS3 so let me know if you've seen CAS2.5 or if this (CL2.5) is something different.
Crucial at the moment only sells cas 2.5 per spd.
However you can manually set the timings in bios for cas2 and it will run at cas2.
Its just programmed so if you set your bios to auto memory timings the bios will see 2.5 and set the timing to that.
Great , I was hoping I would hear something like that!
Thanks Placid

I am running my crucial 25meg PC2100 module at 150FSB CAS2, so it will go even higher at that lower CAS setting.
Thats real nice to hear this stick is 32meg , I can't wait for the rest of the system!
So Tacoman667 is your ram CL3?

For SDR RAM the access times are in full cycles (two or three) but DDR allows half cycle (2.5)...that's why there's the difference. :)

Nope, I got the CAS2.5 like you did.

Hmm , I wonder why yours is only 25meg mine breaks down like this (32meg x 64)/8 = 256MB .
