So I've been motoring along with my card running stock for a year or so, started noticing some issues with the video. Decided to open up the case and surf around, noticed the fan (stock) on the card was siezed. I replaced it with a P1 fan (Fit like a glove) and everything seemed ok... I decided to flash the bios with the 9500pro-9700 bios mod, and start playing with overclocking the card. Flashed the bios and reloaded drivers, left all speeds stock and ran 3dmark01 for a baseline... won't run. Gets about 3 seconds into the first set and the video card dumps. Flashed the bios back after fiddleing with settings, and still getting the video dump... any thought? Am wondering if the card was damaged when it's fan died?? Rest of system is currently running stock settings, AN78X Deluxe rev 2, 1 GB 2700 ram, XP2200.
If it is the card anyone have a recommended replacement for less than $100 or so?? I have been looking and don't want to buy a crappy card... looking for comparable performance to my 9500 pro.. I'm a primary gamer, and will be overhauling to 64 bit cpu and PCI ex in 1 year 9 months.. (get a grand from company every 5 years for home pc!!)

I just recently baked my 9800non-pro when the fan died... Works fine in DOS and 2D, but as soon as 3D kicks in, it gets all corrupted and screwy. Funny thing is, it never crashes, just looks all kinds of ugly :p

$100 huh? I wonder if you can find a 9600 of some sort in that price range?

been looking all over... don't want to step down to a 9200 or anything geforce powered... found a number of 9600SE 's floating for that range... but not sure if I'd be happy... In a rock and a hard place, don't want to spend a lot but wanting to have a lot...
anyone have thoughts on the 9600SE?

The 9600 is a decent buy, although I'm not sure if the SE is or not. I thought the SE had some crippled something-or-other, but I might be confusing that with the 9800SE instead.

The 9600SE will be much slower than a 9500pro. You will need a 9600XT at least to match the 9500pro. $100 is a tough price point to hit and get good performance. Maybe try ebay for another 9500pro?

What is a P1 fan? I need a replacement fan for my 9500 Pro too. I also need to be able to mount it with out any of the screws, or anything it originally came with.
