Hmmm this ones kinda odd...

Everytime I try to install a program in Windows, it either reboots after 100% of file copying or locks up at 100% file copying and I can't get the program to install correctly.

Its happening to me both on Norton Antivirus 2001 and WinDVD 2000.

I'd like to get WinDVD installed tonite as I rented a couple DVD's!!

Anyway, its not an OC related problem, I clocked back to normal and it still happens. I even canceled all tasks except the installer and explorer and that didn't help.

I think its time for a reinstall, though I don't wanna do that :(

Still I should be able to install stuff! Any ideas?

Mike

You installed the M$ "shutdown patch"? I've only seen the rare case where something didn't work until after I installed it. But, your set up may be one of those rare cases. Maybe not, but it's good to cover all the bases.

I've had that exact same problem installing some (not all) programs on my Win98 SE machine. I tried to install Adobe Acrobat and it just hung and never started the program. Then I ran an updater to update Easy CD Creator to its current version, and the program hung after the status bar got to 100%. I had to Ctrl+Alt+Del to get it to shut down. When I went back into Windows and checked the version, it showed the new version, so I hope the installation took.
